The ECKART group, founded in 1876 and an ALTANA AG company, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of effect and metallic pigments. Today the group employs approx. 1,850 people and develops, produces and markets metallic effect and pearlescent pigments in powder, paste and pellet form, as well as concentrates, dispersions and printing inks all over the world.
We supply various products for the plastics industry, which can be used to create stunning visual effects. The metal-based effect pigments reflect light falling on their surface. This reflection generates a brilliant metallic effect. In all cases the different grades of pigment and the different inherent colorings of the plastics will influence opacity and the metallic effect produced.
In addition to the plastics industry, ECKART products are used in the printing industry, the coatings and lightweight concrete industries and in cosmetic products.
The new LUXAN K family provides exceptional luster in transparent packaging of foods and cosmetics. It is also suitable for use in the interior trim of automobiles, for household appliances, or in sports or leisure goods.
MASTERSAFE pigments enhance visual appearance of mass tinted plastics in order to achieve a metallic or steel look of plastics parts. These highly brilliant aluminum pigments provide outstanding optical properties, excellent hiding power and a distinctive flop.
PLATALUX is ECKARTs new generation of effect pigments for decorative plastics applications. One champagne-colored shade with an extraordinary sparkle is available.
ENERGYSAFE pigments from ECKART provide functional properties, i.e. plastics enhanced with ENERGYSAFE absorb less sunlight.
They reflect up to 60 percent of solar radiation. The materials heat up correspondingly less.
